A former champion who helped Randy Orton train ahead of his WWE return at Survivor Series has been revealed.
Drew Gulak has played a number of different roles on the WWE roster since joining the company following the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic.
Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the former Cruiserweight Champion is currently helping stars returning from injuries at the WWE Performance Center.
Noting that Gulak recently worked with R-Truth and Randy Orton, Meltzer wrote:
One of the roles of Gulak is helping get people returning from injuries back in ring shape. Of late he’s been working with both R-Truth and Orton
PWInsider had previously reported that NXT’s Damon Kemp had been training with Orton for his return as well.
Gulak and Kemp are in the same faction on NXT TV, along with Charlie Dempsey and Myles Borne.
They’re essentially the NXT version of Catch-Point, Gulak’s faction on the indies that also included Matt Riddle among others.
Both R-Truth and Randy Orton returned to WWE TV at the Survivor Series WarGames 2023 premium live event.
While Truth just appeared in a backstage segment, Orton competed in the main event of the show, teaming with Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso and Sami Zayn to defeat Damian Priest, Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh and Drew McIntyre.
It has been teased that a new WWE show featuring R-Truth could be coming soon, click here to find out more.
