WWE Star Says Ronda Rousey ‘Does Care About The Women’s Division’ WWE

Raquel Rodriguez has opened up about Ronda Rousey and her impact on the members of the WWE women’s division.

Rousey left WWE after her match against Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam on Saturday, August 5, 2023.

Subsequent reporting has stated that Rousey has her sights on future projects, including a possible return to UFC.

Speaking on the subject of Rousey during an appearance on the Eat, Sleep, Repeat Podcast, Raquel Rodriguez addressed her experiences with the star, saying:

“Ronda carries herself like a superstar. Ronda is great. I’ve had no bad experiences with Ronda.

“I think she’s also been very willing to put herself into a business that she doesn’t have much knowledge in, but she’s also been willing to help the rest of us along the way too, and elevate a lot of the women

“in the division. She wants a lot for the women in the division, I’ll say that. She does care about the women’s division for WWE.”

Rodriguez would reflect on her time in the ring with Rousey which included two matches for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship, adding:

“I was very proud of the two matches we had for the women’s titles. It’s really great to work with someone like Ronda because she’s such an amazing athlete.

“Stepping in the ring with her is very intimidating in itself, but having someone who moves differently and has a different mentality almost makes you want to step up your game and be creative.

“You have to step out of your box when you’re facing someone like Ronda. It was a lot of fun for me, too.”

Highlights from the SmackDown Women’s Title Match between Rousey and Rodriguez on May 13, 2022, can be seen below this news story.

Rodriguez and Liv Morgan would become WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions after defeating Rousey and Shayna Baszler at Money in the Bank on July 1, 2023, before losing them to Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville on July 17.
