A new report has revealed a TNA Wrestling Easter egg that was spotted during the April 1 WrestleMania 40 go-home edition of WWE Raw.
On the April 1 episode of Monday Night Raw, Drew McIntyre appeared in a segment from a funeral home where he delivered a eulogy for CM Punk’s dream of headlining WrestleMania and Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Title reign.
The scathing promo saw Drew ridicule Punk for being “an out of shape has-been” whose “fragile” body failed him in the Royal Rumble worse than it did in the UFC. McIntyre then moved on to mock Rollins and state that he will bring his World Heavyweight Championship reign to an end at WrestleMania 40.
According to SEScoops, a fan on social media pointed out that the funeral home used in the Drew McIntyre segment has been used by TNA Wrestling on a few occasions in the past.
Most notably, TNA first used the funeral home in a 2005 segment where America’s Most Wanted held a funeral for Team 3-D, which is best known to WWE fans as The Dudley Boyz.
Years later, TNA Wrestling used the funeral home again for a segment where they laid The Aces N Eights faction to rest.
Also worth note, many names who worked with TNA during the period where they used the funeral home currently work for WWE. Both Jeremy Borash and Chris Parks (Abyss) have backstage roles within the company.
I watched enough TNA IMPACT in 2005 and 2013 to know exactly where I’ve seen this particular funeral home before. 😂
Nice to see it looks exactly the same since the Team 3D and Aces and Eights segments. https://t.co/fTIWQOwvAT pic.twitter.com/Gq9nj188gw
