Ahead of WWE moving to Netflix in 2025, the backstage reaction to streaming issues during Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul has been revealed.
Tyson vs Paul took place last night and garnered massive viewership numbers for its live broadcast on Netflix with 60 million households tuning in globally, but the presentation was hampered by a multitude of technical issues.
Many viewers experienced buffering and connection problems that negatively impacted their ability to enjoy the event, or in some cases even watch it at all.
With Raw moving to Netflix in 2025 and set to air live every Monday, there has been some worry from WWE fans that similar issues may take place.
When Fightful Select asked WWE sources about this, they responded by saying they’d been “assured” by Netflix that the issues would be “kept at a minimum”.
A higher-up in WWE even specifically said that if WWE ever has similar viewership to Tyson vs Paul, it would be “a good problem to have”.
As of now, there are still many details up in the air regarding WWE Raw on Netflix, such as air time and start time, but it’s confirmed that the first Netflix episode will be January 6.
There’s also an expectation that the rules on edgy and explicit content will be less strict than they’ve been during Raw‘s time on USA Network.
