Popular Free Agent Wants To Reunite With WWE Star WWE

Former IWGP Women’s Champion KAIRI has teased a reunion with WWE star Asuka, noting that she’s had a lot of offers for appearances in the US.

KAIRI last wrestled for WWE on the July 20, 2020 edition of Raw, defeating Bayley in singles action. She then left the US and returned to Japan, where she served as a WWE ambassador ahead of her contract expiring in late-2021.

The popular star made her US return in February at the NJPW Battle in the Valley show, where she notably dropped her IWGP Women’s Championship to Mercedes Mone.

Speaking with Proresu-TODAY, KAIRI noted that she hopes to reunite with her former tag partner Asuka one day.

Noting that there has been a lot of interest shown in her from the US, KAIRI said:

“Miss Asuka, I hope to meet you again someday, somewhere.

“It has been about three years since I left the U.S., but the number of offers for interviews and matches from overseas has actually been increasing, and even on social networking sites, I receive many messages in English from overseas fans saying, ‘Please come back soon!’ I can only be thankful for that.”

KAIRI was the first ever IWGP Women’s Champion, winning a tournament for the gold in November 2022.

Calling the moment a career highlight, KAIRI said:

“It (winning IWGP Women’s Title) was the highlight of my career so far, and even though I am a freelancer, it was the highlight of my return to STARDOM… Wrestling in New Japan’s ring…. And with Mayu (Iwatani) and with the belt in the main event, it was something I had never even dreamed of.”

The former WWE star previously teased her return to the company, which you can read more about right here.
