The Lucha Bros are widely expected to be WWE-bound although Rey Fenix is believed to still be under contract with AEW.
With Penta El Zero Miedo having told people he was expecting to go to WWE, it was reported that the pair were seeking a package deal that would see them on the main roster.
At the time of writing, there has been no confirmation that the Lucha Brothers have signed with WWE, although reports have emerged suggesting they were set to sign multi-year deals.
It was also recently reported that there’s a possibility Fenix could have injury time added to his AEW contract delaying a possible arrival in WWE, although it’s not confirmed whether this was implemented or not.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer stated that:
“Penta is confirmed but we knew that all along. For Fenix to come in, that would mean Tony Khan allowed him to leave early as Fenix was out for a year due to injuries that would be added to his contract.”
Fenix has given an indication of his future on Instagram, sharing a post that featured the caption:
“Blessed Wrestling, Thanks for everything. 🙏🏻”
The post featured images from across the Lucha Brothers’ career including their time in AEW, with a number of fans wishing him well in WWE, clearly taking the post as being something of a farewell.
During their time in AEW, The Lucha Brothers have held the World Tag Team Championship and the World Trios Championship as Death Triangle with PAC.
Rey Fenix is also a former AEW International Champion, beating Jon Moxley for the title at the Grand Slam episode of Dynamite in September 2023.
