Rising WWE Star Says They ‘Proved A Point’ With Recent Win WWE

A rising WWE star has given their first comment after a statement-making performance at July 30’s Great American Bash event.

After defeating Blair Davenport in a ‘Weapons Wild’ match, former NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez was interviewed backstage my McKenzie Mitchell, with The Prodigy putting her doubters on notice, saying she “proved a point” with the win.

When asked how she feels to have won in her home state of Texas, in front of her family who were in attendance, Roxanne said:

“I feel absolutely amazing and I feel like a freakin’ prodigy that’s how I feel.

“I definitely think I proved a point tonight, not only to Blair Davenport but to everybody else who has ever underestimated me.

“I’m not willing to be underestimated, there’s a reason they call me the prodigy and I’m not afraid to say that I’m the best woman here in NXT”

With Perez securing the win, her next target may be to recapture her NXT Women’s Championship, currently held by Tiffany Stratton.

Similarly to Perez, Stratton also scored a victory in Texas, successfully defending her title against 19-year-old Thea Hail in a submission match.

While Perez didn’t make her exact intentions clear, her statement as the “best woman in NXT” may see some disagreement from the current champion.
