A top WWE star has praised LA Knight.
The popularity of LA Knight has skyrocketed as 2023 has gone on with the SmackDown star getting massive reactions from fans all around the world.
Knight’s theme and catchphrase usually garners the biggest cheers in arenas, while also catching the eye of his peers and veterans alike.
The former Million Dollar Champion has received both criticism and praise for his similarities to Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock.
Speaking to Fox News, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins weighed in on LA Knight’s popularity. He said:
“It’s great, man. It’s fantastic. We just got so many talents right now that are just clearing everybody else. If there’s not 100 hot guys, there’s a bunch of new ones coming up.”
“Everybody’s just hitting right at the right time. And the LA Knight thing, he’s got a call and response thing with the audience. He’s got that feeling that he’s being held down a little bit.”
“He’s got that chip on his shoulder. And, in some ways, he’s just a throwback to the Attitude Era. I know he’s received a lot of comparisons to The Rock and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, some people mocking him for that.”
“But, I mean, those two are some of the most popular superstars in the history of our industry. I think any comparison you’re going to get to them, especially from a popularity standpoint, is a win.”
“I think the sky’s the limit for him. I’m looking forward to seeing kind of where this renewed, invigorated passion for LA Knight kinda leads his character and leads him in the next year. It’s really going to be fascinating to watch.”
LA Knight will compete in the Slim Jim Battle Royal, while Seth Rollins will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor at WWE SummerSlam 2023. For the full lineup for the event, click here.
