Former WWE Star Shayna Baszler & Raw Star Nattie Respond To Sol Ruca Saying She Wants To Get Better At Grappling & Submissions

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Sol Ruca wants to improve her grappling game, and invitations came from Nattie and Shayna Baszler.

At WWE Clash in Italy, Sol Ruca claimed her first main roster title, defeating Becky Lynch to become the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

A champion she may be, but Sol Ruca recently revealed a desire to improve her grappling and submission skillset during a recent appearance on TMZ Sports, saying:

“I am someone who likes to adapt and evolve, especially within my skill set. Not only just trying to do the Sol Snatcher a bunch of different ways, like I want to be a very well-rounded professional wrestler. I want to get better at grappling, I want to get better at doing submissions and stuff like that.

“I’m not necessarily… It’s not that I’m not good at it, it’s just not within my background, I haven’t been doing it for as long.”

With this hope in mind, two offers would come from stars with more than ample experience in both those elements, as Nattie would share an invite to The Dungeon and former WWE star Shayna Baszler would extend an invite of her own.

Nattie would share an invite to The Dungeon, laying out the groundwork for what Ruca can expect, tweeting:

“Hi@SolRucaWWE!

“Here’s your invite to The Dungeon. I promise it’s nothing like anything you’ve ever done before. Let me know if you’re up for it.”

Baszler’s offer would be kept short and to the point, with the MMA star-turned-wrestler stating:

“Hey,@SolRucaWWE. I know a place…..”

Parting ways with WWE after her contract expired on July 31 last year, Baszler has maintained a relationship with the company and was seen on the March 3 episode of NXT, training Kelani Jordan ahead of her underground match against Lola Vice at this year’s Vengeance Day.

Bringing The Fight To Sol Ruca

Following her victory, Sol Ruca declared that she wants to be a fighting champion, going as far as to suggest she wants to defend her title as often as possible, including against stars from NXT.

With no limit on who could face Ruca when it comes to style, Ruca wanting to improve her submission and grappling arsenal could very well alter the type of star that she becomes.

Clearly seeing herself as a pliable entity, the former gymnast has already demonstrated the athleticism of her abilities and certainly has a degree of marketability, even without the championship, yet pursuing a more grounded style in WWE could very well pay dividends.

Taking her desire and turning it into a reality under either Nattie, who has helped Maxxine Dupri fine-tune her in-ring style, or Baszler can only help her to achieve her goals.

Ruca, with her gymnastics history, shares that non-wrestling background with Dupri, who joined WWE as a former cheerleader and dancer and has spoken about the challenges inherent in her lack of experience.

For both stars, they’re clearly willing and more than able to embrace professional wrestling and improve their skills, looking forward to long and successful careers in the ring.
