A WWE star has commented on tonight’s Intercontinental Championship Gauntlet Match on Monday Night Raw (March 11).
With just under four weeks until WrestleMania 40 kicks off, we now know several of the two-night show’s biggest match-ups, including how all four world titles will be contested.
What has been less clear though is who will be competing for the rest of WWE’s championships, with one in particular seemingly offering a wide-open field of contenders – GUNTHER’s Intercontinental Title.
For several weeks, Raw stars have pestered General Manager Adam Pearce about receiving a shot at The Ring General.
So, in an amicable solution to the problem, Pearce booked a six-man Gauntlet Match for tonight’s Raw, with the winner receiving the chance to end GUNTHER’s record-breaking reign as champion in Philadelphia.
Of the field of six, many have personal claims to be the one’s to challenge GUNTHER, however, one of the strongest perhaps is Ricochet, who can claim to be the last person to hold the gold before the Austrian began his run of dominance way back in June 2022.
Although, he was unsuccessful in previous attempts to regain the gold, Ricochet appeared to be confident as he took to Twitter to send a final message ahead of the bout – while also acknowledging every other star’s drive to come out on top.
Ricochet tweeted:
Every bodies got their own reasons to fight. Things are heating up #WWERaw
As well as Ricochet, another man with massive investment in winning the Gauntlet match is Chad Gable.
Gable, who may well be the sentimental favorite in the bout, also took to social media yesterday to send a motivational vignette discussing what dethroning GUNTHER means to him – something that even caught the attention of Cody Rhodes.
