A WWE star has begun training for their participation in the New York Marathon in an attempt to raise money for a great cause.
As announced in a post on social media on February 4, WWE Raw star Nikki Cross is intending on participating in the 2024 New York Marathon, in an attempt to raise money for children’s Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Since announcing the news Cross has received support from fans and peers in WWE, with the Scottish star now following up with an announcement that the training for her first ever marathon has officially begun.
Taking to Twitter, Cross said:
Marathon training begins! New York: Here I come!
Thank you to the awesome staff at @trackshack for helping me with shoe fitting!
So important, no matter what but especially given the nature of my profession!
Cross would follow this up with another post detailing how her first training session went – running three and a half miles in 46 minutes.
The 2024 New York Marathon is set to take place on Sunday, November 3, giving Cross nine months of preparation time.
The former WWE Women’s Champion has currently raised over $1,500 towards her goal of $3,500 – if interested in donating to Cross’ efforts follow this link here.
