WWE Star Wasn’t Informed Of Major Match Until ’20 Seconds Before’ WWE

A WWE star has revealed that they weren’t told about their role in a major WWE match until ’20 seconds before’.

At SummerSlam in 2021, Becky Lynch made her return to WWE after over a year away, quickly defeating Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the show.

The match was originally slated to see Bianca defend in a WrestleMania 37 rematch with Sasha Banks, with Banks being pulled from the show on the day, and Carmella replacing her in the match prior to Becky’s return.

In her new book, Lynch detailed the night, noting that the match was originally set to be Bianca defending against both Carmella and Zelina Vega, but WWE ‘forgot’ to book Zelina in the match.

Becky says that she went to speak to Carmella about the plan for the match, but Carmella had not been informed by the company what was happening, until Becky gave her a heads up.

One fan reacted to Becky’s excerpt, asking why WWE would blindside their talent like that, to which Carmella responded:

Great question. They didn’t tell me until 20 seconds before my music hit. I’m so grateful Becky gave me the heads up.
