Former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston has not been seen on WWE television since March.
Kingston was scheduled for an Intercontinental Championship five-way on the March 10 episode of SmackDown, but he was pulled from the match after suffering an injury during a brawl the week prior.
Kingston was replaced in the match by New Day partner Xavier Woods in the match, with Woods currently the only member of the trio not injured.
Woods recently said that New Day would be returning ‘in due time’ as they take on various outside projects.
In an update from Sean Ross Sapp on a Fightful Select Q&A, Kofi’s return from injury is said to be ‘not that far off’, as well as providing an update on Big E.
He said:
“I was told that Kofi wasn’t supposed to be that far off, but that was a week or two ago I believe. Big E is a ‘who knows if he’ll ever be back’ thing.”
The New Day were drafted to the Raw brand in the 2023 WWE Draft.
