Yesterday WWE announced the eight-men who will be competing in the NXT Cruiserweight Championship tournament. The tournament will crown an interim champion while Jordan Devlin is stuck overseas due to the Coronavirus.
In case you missed the news, here are the eight men who will be taking part in the tournament and what block they are in:
Group A:
- Kushida
- Drake Maverick
- Tony Nese
- Jake Atlas
Group B:
- Isaiah “Swerve” Scott
- El Hijo del Fantasma
- Akira Tozawa
- Jack Gallagher
Following the news, Lio Rush took to social media to share his thoughts on being left out of the tournament by WWE officials. At this time, there is no word on if this is a work or if Rush is truly angry at being left out:

Some have speculated that Rush was left out of the tournament because WWE wanted the eight-men part of the competition to have never won the Cruiserweight Championship.
However, Tony Nese of block A and Akira Tozawa of block B are both part of the tournament, so it is unclear why Rush has been left out despite being a great in-ring worker.
