WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker has commented on the El Grande Americano Mask vs Mask match which took place in AAA.
The May 30 AAA Noche De Los Grandes match saw the Original El Grande Americano battle El Grande Americano in a match where the loser would have to publicly remove their mask.
The latter version of the character was ultimately victorious, with the Original El Grande Americano unmasking and reintroducing himself as Chad Gable following a heavily praised match.
With many fans and wrestlers alike showing love to the two stars following the match, The Undertaker has now taken to Twitter to comment on the bout.
Calling it an incredible match, the Deadman wrote:
“An incredible battle to become the one and the only.”
The Undertaker is familiar with battles to become “the one and only”, with the star famously facing off against a fake Undertaker at SummerSlam 1994.
The Undertaker is a key member of the AAA creative team, alongside Jeremy Borash.
Reports have indicated that for previous shows, Undertaker and Borash worked with Dorian Roldan and Konnan to make sure their plans worked based on AAA history and Mexican pro-wrestling culture.
With Chad Gable unmasking and declaring that Ludwig Kaiser’s El Grande Americano is now the only El Grande Americano, the crowd showed love for Gable, chanting his name following the match.
Gable stated following the match that he does plan on returning to AAA at some point, but noted that he doesn’t know when that will be.
With Ludwig’s version of the character winning the match, this version of the character will continue to wrestle in AAA, which appears to be the right decision considering the reactions he receives with each appearance.
