WWE star Jimmy Uso had his Tribute To The Troops win streak broken on this week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
Not only did Friday’s show see numerous SmackDown storylines continue, the episode was branded as a Tribute to the Troops special, continuing WWE’s 21 year tradition of holding annual events to honor United States Armed Forces members.
The main event of the show was a big one, with Randy Orton wrestling his first match since signing with SmackDown on last week’s show.
Orton teamed with LA Knight to defeat Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa in tag-team action.
This was a significant loss for Jimmy Uso, who suffered his first defeat at a Tribute to the Troops event.
Per Wrestling Stats & Info on Twitter prior to SmackDown, Jimmy was one of just six stars to win three or more matches at Tribute to the Troops events while also being undefeated at the event.
With Jimmy losing on SmackDown, his Tribute to the Troops undefeated streak is gone, with his record at these events now 3-1 in televised matches, 4-1 including his dark match at the 2013 show.
Following this, Jimmy Uso won tag-team matches at the 2014, 2015 and 2017 shows.
His most recent Tribute to the Troops win saw him team with Jey Uso, Big E and Kofi Kingston to defeat Chad Gable, Shelton Benjamin, Rusev (Miro) and Aiden English (Matthew Rehwoldt).
Also on SmackDown, a top WWE star appeared to suffer an injury, which you can read more about right here.
Jimmy Uso is one of only 6 Superstars who has competed in 3+ Tribute to the Troops matches in his @WWE career, and won all of them. If he wins tonight, he'd be 4-0 at the annual event.
(@WWERomanReigns is currently already 4-0 in Tribute to the Troops matches.) #SmackDown https://t.co/tCy3kKH2Vg
