GUNTHER put his near-record setting Intercontinental Title reign on the line at tonight’s WWE SummerSlam against Drew McIntyre.
Considering what happened when the two men were involved in a three-way at WrestleMania with Sheamus, fans expected this to be nothing short of hard-hitting, and that’s certainly what it was.
With GUNTHER in particular being known for his chops, and McIntyre being known for just being a hard-hitter in general, it’ll come as no surprise that there was a chop exchange during the match that you should probably see if you haven’t already.

GUNTHER did manage to beat McIntyre with a powerbomb to retain his title in the end.
If GUNTHER is able to keep his Intercontinental Championship until at least September 7, he will surpass the Honky Tonk Man as the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion in WWE history.
