The biggest annual tournament in European wrestling, wXw 16 Carat Gold, kicked off yesterday, with the likes of NXT’s Marcel Barthel, NXT UK’s Ilja Dragunov and WALTER, and more, in action.

- Lucky Kid def. Timothy Thatcher – 16 Carat Gold first round match
- Avalanche def. Jurn Simmons – 16 Carat Gold first round match – Falls Count Anywhere match
- Pentagon Jr. def. Mark Davis – 16 Carat Gold first round match
- Ilja Dragunov def. Daisuke Sekimoto – 16 Carat Gold first round match
- WALTER def. David Starr – 16 Carat Gold first round match
The tournament will continue until the third night on Sunday, when the final will be held and the winner crowned.
Last year’s wXw 16 Carat Gold tournament winner was Absolute Andy. Previous winners throughout the years include Chris Hero (Kassius Ohno), WALTER, El Generico (Sami Zayn) and Tommy End (Aleister Black).
