AEW stars Matt and Nick Jackson of the Young Bucks have now explained why WWE being on its game helps AEW.
It was recently confirmed that Matt, Nick, Kenny Omega and Hangman Page have all agreed to renew their deals with AEW.
Prior to this announcement, there was heavy speculation that the Elite could make the jump to WWE, which has been thriving in recent months.
Speaking on the Swerve City podcast, Nick Jackson noted that WWE helps AEW do better as wrestling as a whole is hot at the moment:
Nick “WWE helps us being hot because wrestling in general is hot now.”
It was previously reported that the Young Bucks’ new deals were said to be the highest guaranteed deals for a tag team across any company ever.
When Matt and Nick Jackson were discussing actual NBA contracts, the duo compared their new AEW deals to these agreements.
The Young Bucks noted:
Matt “We just signed one today, right?”
Nick “It’s funny you say that, because when we signed our contracts we were like ‘this is an NBA-level contract’. That’s pretty crazy.”
The duo also revealed that members of the Elite did disagree at times about whether to leave or stay with AEW, which you can read more about right here.
