New WWE Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega has commented on her husband Aleister Black’s return to the company.
Former AEW star Malakai Black officially left AEW back in February, when his contract with the company expired.
Following his free agency, video packages began airing on WWE SmackDown, teasing the return of Aleister Black, which officially took place on last week’s episode of the show.
Black came to the ring to confront The Miz during a promo segment, before dropping Miz with a Black Mass to close the segment.
It was a big episode of SmackDown for Black’s household, as his wife Zelina Vega defeated Chelsea Green on the show to win the Women’s United States Championship.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Zelina spoke about Aleister’s return to WWE, and what her favourite part was about it.
She said:
“After everything that both him and I had been through, it felt like, okay, that chapter of ‘the crazy’ is done, and now we can start this new chapter.
“I think he was so ready for that. He was so ready to return home.
“Honestly, my favorite part was – obviously seeing him go out there and do what he does – but Triple H hugging him afterwards and saying ‘welcome home’ was really, really nice.”
