With WWE Survivor Series less than two weeks away, this week’s Smackdown Live saw the majority of the blue brand’s team come together.
One of the qualifying matches for a spot on ‘Team Blue’ saw Rey Mysterio defeat Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas. However, Almas was without his business associate Zelina Vega, who did not travel as part of WWE‘s European tour.
As reported by PWInsider, there were concerns that Vega suffered a concussion at the WWE‘s first all women’s pay-per-view Evolution. Vega was one of the last three women in the Battle Royal, and was eliminated by the match’s eventual winner Nia Jax. The injury has not officially been confirmed, but Vega was pulled from the current overseas tour as a precaution. However, unlike the current vast and growing list of injured talent, Vega’s injury is not seen as too concerning. She was present at the WWE Performance Center earlier today, and reports note that those who saw her thought she looked to be having no issues.
It was strange to see Almas without Vega in his corner this past Tuesday, with the latter’s absence being noted on commentary as “attending to other managerial duties.”
She did take to Twitter after the match, praising ‘Cien’ and stating that she will be by his side for the eventual rematch:
