It was reported last week that WWE writer and Emmy award winner Jennifer Pepperman had severe backsatge heat after she brought her award to a writers’ meeting.
However, since then more stories have emerged seemingly suggesting that Vince McMahon had no issue at all with Pepperman’s award, in fact he seemed delighted.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer said:
“A version of the Jennifer Pepperman story told to us defending her is that she had taken a red-eye flight to Cincinnati for television last week. The writing team was going to drive from Cincinnati to Louisville right after the show, so she kept her luggage at the arena and the Emmy was in her luggage.
“I think the issue was that she packed and brought her Emmy. Vince, when the Emmy was on the table, even though Michael Hayes told her to not put it prominently on the table because of how it would be viewed, brought up her winning the Emmy when it was out there and told everyone to give her a standing ovation and the company newsletter noted her winning an Emmy.”
While I’m sure the idea of Vince being a kind boss might be a bit alien to many of you, at least this version of events would suggest that he cares…even if it’s just a little bit.
