WWE Star Daniel Bryan Sets Retirement Date

The wrestling world was hit with a huge blow on February 8, 2016 when Daniel Bryan retired from WWE after a series of concussions and head and neck injuries. The segment was one of the most emotional in Raw’s history, especially considering Bryan was only 34 years of age at the time.

However, in one of WWE’s miracle stories, Bryan returned to action at WrestleMania 34 in 2018 after a three-year battle to get cleared. He tagged with Shane McMahon to take on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn is his first match since 2015.

Since then, Bryan has captured the WWE Championship once again and completely transformed his character, becoming one of the best heels in the company.

It seems like fans won’t have to worry about Bryan retiring anytime soon, as when speaking to Sports Illustrated, the current Smackdown Tag Team Champion revealed that he has no intentions of stepping away from the ring:

“There are people who say, ‘I only want to do this for three or four more years,’ or ‘I only want to do this until I’m 45. No. I want to do this until I’m 70. Months before I die, I want to be doing a wrestling show. I won’t be able to do the stuff I do now, but I want to go out and do this thing I’ve been passionate about wrestling my entire life. I want to do that my whole life.”

Bryan has been teaming with Rowan since returning from a slight injury scare after WrestleMania 35. Rowan has been showcased in all their matches and it is clear that the company are trying to protect Bryan somewhat. Hopefully he can stay safe in the ring and keep fighting for another 30 years.
