Jinder Mahal last wrestled on WWE TV during the 51-man Battle Royal at WWE Super ShowDown.
However, he suffered a knee injury at a Smackdown Live Event in a match against Ali eight days later, and has been missing from TV ever since.
The former WWE Champion took to Instagram today to confirm that he actually suffered a ruptured patella tendon which required surgery.
He added that the procedure went well, and claimed that his eventual “comeback is going to be legendary”.

There is no word on how long Mahal will be out for, but we wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see the Smackdown superstar back in a WWE ring before too long.
