Today at Crown Jewel, history will be made as Lacey Evans and Natalya go one-on-one in the first-ever women’s wrestling match in Saudi Arabia.
There is no word on why WWE decided to choose Natalya and Lacey Evans for the match. Earlier on in the year, Natalya and Alexa Bliss were flown out for Super ShowDown as WWE tried to convince the government to let the pair compete.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the Saudi government insisted that Lacey Evans and Natalya would wear different attires from normal.
On the matter, Meltzer said we should expect a new look Natalya and Lacey Evans from the ones we see on Raw and Smackdown each week.
“They’re not going to wear their US wrestling outfits on the show. That was part of the agreement that they won’t. So that was never an issue.”
Lacey Evans and Natalya will likely wear attires similar to Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks when they wrestled in Abu Dhabi back in 2017.
I'm intrigued how the fanbase will react when they come out covered up like in Abu Dhabi.
I know it should all be about the in-ring action, but it highlights the women's rights issues even with a match on pic.twitter.com/6EPUo9VQ7k
