A WWE star has revealed it took them two years to get their gimmick approved after pitching it to the company for that long.
Naomi’s ‘Glow’ character is one of the more compelling in WWE’s women’s divison currently, but it took a couple of years to actually get it on TV before it finally did in late 2016.
Speaking with Civilian Magazine, the former SmackDown Women’s Champion said:
“It took me two years to get that on TV. I had been pitching it literally for two years. I just knew that was me, and that was what kind of set me apart.”
Naomi hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since a loss to Dana Brooke at the May 11 SmackDown taping, which was her first match since losing to Brooke on April 17 in a Money in the Bank qualifier.
Before that, she returned from a five months absence at the Royal Rumble in January as was part of the SmackDown Women’s Title five-way at WrestleMania on April 5.
