Today on Day 17 of the NJPW G1 Climax show, a former AEW star shockingly debuted for the Japanese promotion, helping Will Ospreay defeat former IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Kazuchika Okada.
During Will Ospreay’s match, his real-life girlfriend Bea Priestley and The Great O Kharn both appeared and distracted Okada. This allowed Ospreay to hit the Hidden Blade and pick up the win. The heel turn and debut was rather shockingly, presumably ending Ospreay’s time with the CHOAS stable.

Bea Priestley was released from her AEW contract back in August. She’d been stuck in the UK since the beginning of the pandemic and was left unable to attend AEW shows in the States. This is her first appearance for NJPW.
The Great O-Kharn last appeared for NJPW at the beginning of February last year, when he defeated Harlem Bravado in singles action. Since then, The Great O-Kharn (also known as Tomoyuki Oka) has been on excursion with Rev Pro in the UK.
Will Ospreay will need both Kota Ibushi and Jay White to lose their respective matches today to win to Block A and progress to the finals of the G1 Climax 30 this year. You can check out WrestleTalk’s live coverage of the show below.
