WWE commentary can be, shall we say, questionable at times. The company’s commentary has been criticized for years but we got an interesting moment on Raw this week. During the show, Byron Saxton had a truly bizarre line.
Saxton said that Asuka vs. Nia Jax was a match worthy of the main event of WrestleMania. Needless to say, Twitter had a field day with that one. However, now there is some backstage news regarding the line itself.
It is hard to decipher what is truly the words of the people speaking and what is being fed to them by those backstage. Now, Fightful Select (subscription required) has an update. They are currently reporting that this line was, in fact, fed to Saxton directly. This was not ad-libbed and was very much scripted to be said on-air.
What that means, we have no idea. Ultimately this could lead to nothing at all but if WWE decides to main event WrestleMania 37 with Asuka and Nia Jax, this would be the first tease of that. To this point, neither Asuka nor Nia Jax have ever main evented a WrestleMania
