More details have emered regarding the upcoming launch of the new NXT India brand which will be getting underway at the start of next year.
Sportskeeda is reporting that the initial tournament, while it will feature Indian talent, will be happening at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
The proposed date for the launch is said to be January 26, because that day is celebrated as ‘Republic Day’ in India. It’ll air on one or more Sony Sports Network channels in India, as well as on the WWE Network.
The report also added that a goal for WWE is for there to be an NXT Asia system alongside NXT India, featuring talents from the likes of Japan, China and Singapore.
It depends on the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, but it’s expected that WWE will have a fully-functional Performance Center in India in 2022.
The wrestlers who’ll be in the tournament have yet to be revealed, but Sportskeeda says sources believe Jinder Mahal, the Singh Brothers, Indus-Sher and Jeet Rama could be involved, as well as one of the more recently signed recruits – Gurvinder Singh, Sukhwinder Grewal, and Laxmi Kant Rajpoot.
