One of the highlights of the Summer for All Elite Wrestling was Cody Rhodes’ TNT Championship open challenge. Wrestlers from in AEW and out challenged him for the title and one of the most requested challengers was Warhorse.
Now, the independent wrestling star has said that people haven’t stopped asking him about it. Here is the quote from his recent interview with Sports Illustrated, courtesy of Fightful:
“It definitely bumped up my booking fee [laughs]. I got a lot more recognition, got on a lot of people’s radars, and got a lot of new fans from it too. Seems like every other day people are asking me why I didn’t sign with AEW. I’d say I did my part and did it as best I could.”
Warhorse was unable to capture the TNT Championship in his match with Cody Rhodes. He was also the only challenger from outside AEW not to sign with the promotion afterward. Eddie Kingston and Ricky Starks both faced Rhodes for the title on Dynamite and both earned contracts.
