Here’s the real reason the Riho vs Thunder Rosa match in the AEW Women’s Title #1 contender tournament won’t be on Dynamite.
After Tony Khan announced that it would instead be streaming on Bleacher Report, Dave Meltzer has provided some more insight.
The show will be on Sunday, February 28, and the reason is because the following week’s March 7 Revolution pay-per-view will be the promotion’s first on a Sunday.
Therefore, this is being done to essentially “get fans ready” for the following Sunday. All previous AEW pay-per-views to this point have been on Saturdays.
The final of the Japanese bracket will also be on the same Bleacher Report show. Then, the overall final will be on the March 3 Dynamite.
The winner of that final on Dynamite will get the Women’s World Title shot against Hikaru Shida at Revolution on March 7.
