According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, people within WWE are disappointed with the ticket sales for both nights of WrestleMania 37 next weekend.
Tickets went on sale for the shows last month, and WWE is said to have been disappointed that they didn’t immediately sell out. However, Meltzer explains that due to the lack of international travel, this isn’t too alarming:
Live event tickets sold almost completely in the presale. At press time, nine days before the show, there were 1,000 tickets left for Saturday and 809 tickets left for Sunday, so both will almost certainly sell out of their allotment of tickets that were originally put on sale. We still don’t know what that number is. We do know that expectations were that they would do a UFC 261-like immediate sellout with huge demand for the first events back with ticketed fans due to the pent-up demand, and there is disappointment that didn’t happen. But it’s a weird time. Less people are willing to travel and in particular coming from the key overseas markets is very difficult due to quarantine rules.
Speaking of WrestleMania, it has emerged that WWE is likely not going to be adding a specific match to the card for the show next weekend. You can read more about that report by clicking here.
