The extent to which Vince McMahon was involved in last night’s NXT 2.0 relaunch has been revealed according to a new report.
As per Ringside News – which has been accurate with WWE backstage reports in recent times and has had several confirmed by the likes of Dave Meltzer and Fightful – Vince McMahon reviewed last night’s script with WWE lead writer Ed Koskey.
It’s not clear yet whether this will be the process on a weekly basis from now on, or if McMahon just wanted to be extra involved since it was the first episode of the new era.
McMahon was not at the tapings, nor was Triple H after his recent cardiac event, but Kevin Dunn, who is very much a Vince McMahon guy, was backstage overseeing the show.
Previous reports from Fightful and PWInsider indicated that there were a lot of changes made to last night’s show throughout the day.
It was definitely very different to what we’re used to seeing from the brand, but that was the whole point, and McMahon did have a “clear understanding and input in the bigger picture”, even if he wasn’t involved in every minor detail.
