It has emerged that AEW star and former Team Taz member Brian Cage is currently out of action following recent surgery.
Cage missed his scheduled match against Buddy Matthews (Murphy) for Battleground Wrestling on September 18, which the Wrestling Observer reports was due to Cage’s knees having flared up after undergoing stem cell surgery.
KC Navarro took Cage’s place on the show and it seemed the plan is to do Matthews vs Cage at a future show instead.
Cage’s last AEW match came on September 1 which was a loss to Powerhouse Hobbs.
A few weeks ago on Dynamite, a video package aired which seemed to be leading to a Brian Cage vs Ricky Starks rematch, but there’s been no mention of that for several weeks.
We send our best wishes to Cage for his recovery.
