Insight has emerged on WWE’s recent negotiations to buy ROH during the time Triple H was absent from the company.
Following Khan’s announcement that he’s the new owner of ROH, PWInsider reported that WWE had talks with Sinclair Broadcasting about potentially purchasing the promotion in December 2021.
Per the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, one person with knowledge of WWE’s attempts to buy ROH believe that WWE fumbling the ball on the acquisition is the first sign of Triple H’s absence, besides NXT 2.0.
It was also noted that Triple H was thinking about the possibility of WWE buying ROH in 2018. Per Dave Meltzer in a previous edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, there was definitely ‘something there’, despite ROH denying that talks with WWE were happening at the time.
An update on Khan’s plans for ROH has emerged, which you can check out at this link.
