WWE NXT stars Kay Lee Ray and Kacy Catanzaro are reportedly set to debut new ring names.
Per PWInsider, Kay Lee Ray will soon go by ‘Alba Fyre’. WWE filed an application to trademark the name on April 12.
Kacy Catanzaro will wrestle under the moniker ‘Katana Chance’, which WWE filed to trademark on the same date.
As of writing, Ray and Catanzaro do not have these new names listed on their WWE.com profiles.
Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, talent have been informed that Vince McMahon doesn’t want performers using their real names, or names used prior to signing with WWE.
Kay Lee Ray, real name Kayleigh Rae, wrestled with her current ring name on the independent scene, and didn’t change it after officially signing with WWE in 2019. ‘Kay Lee Ray’ went on to hold the NXT UK Championship for 649 days, before moving to the US NXT brand in the latter half of 2021.
Catanzaro had success on American Ninja Warrior before signing with WWE in 2017. Up until this point, Catanzaro has used her real name in WWE.
