A ROH Women’s Championship match has now been made official for ROH Death Before Dishonor.
It was announced on the latest edition of AEW Control Center that Mercedes Martinez will defend her title against Serena Deeb at the July 23 pay-per-view.
This comes after Deeb turned on Martinez after the duo defeated Kayla Sparks & Christina Marie on AEW Rampage.
Martinez won the interim ROH Women’s Championship at the April 1 Supercard of Honor event. She defeated Deonna Purrazzo to become the undisputed champion on the May 4 edition of Dynamite. Her match with Deeb will be her fourth defence of the gold since becoming the undisputed titleholder.
The two stars have faced off in singles action just a handful of times before, most recently for SHINE in 2014.
Three other title matches have been announced for the show. The announced card for the event is as follows:
- Wheeler Yuta (c) vs. Daniel Garcia – ROH Pure Championship
- FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) (c) vs. The Briscoes (Mark & Jay Briscoe) – ROH Tag Team Championship
- Samoa Joe (c) vs. Jay Lethal – ROH Television Championship
- Mercedes Martinez (c) vs. Serena Deeb – ROH Women’s World Championship
