AEW star Bobby Fish has been announced as the replacement for Karrion Kross at the August 20 DEFY ‘Doomsayers’ show.
Kross was set to face NJPW’s Yuya Uemura on the show, but his return to WWE on the August 5 edition of SmackDown means he won’t be able to compete.
DEFY has announced that Fish will be facing Uemura instead.
Kross and his wife Scarlett Bordeaux, who returned to WWE alongside him, will still be making an appearance at the DEFY show for a meet & greet.
Despite attacking Drew McIntyre and threatening Roman Reigns on SmackDown, Kross isn’t expected to be added to the main event of WWE Clash at the Castle on September 3.
A report from Fightful did indicate that Kross could be involved in plans to un-unify Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship so both Raw and SmackDown have a top champion.
Regarding Fish – he, Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole turned on the Young Bucks on last week’s AEW Dynamite, and it looks likely the final of the AEW Trios Championship tournament at All Out will be Fish, O’Reilly and Cole vs the Bucks and Adam Page.
If you’re in the UK but didn’t manage to get tickets to Clash at the Castle on September 3, WrestleTalk is hosting a watch party at The Joiner on Worship in Shoreditch, London, and we’d love for you to join us! Click here for more details.
