New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced the card for their upcoming NJPW Strong and it is set to feature some familiar faces from AEW.
While the Forbidden Door pay-per-view may be over. the talent swapping continues between AEW and NJPW as several big matches have been announced for this week’s (August 20) NJPW Strong.
In a three way junior heavyweight war, El Desperado takes on Blake Christian and Hiromu Takahashi.
Rocky Romero will be in action against AEW star and multiple-promotion tag team champion, Dax Harwood.
From NJPW regarding the match:
“2nd Match: Dax Harwood vs Rocky Romero
A first time ever singles dream match will see Rocky Romero take on Dax Harwood. After coming so close to capturing IWGP and ROH Tag Team Championship gold at Forbidden Door, Rocky wants to get right back on the championship horse along with Roppongi Vice partner Beretta. To do just that, he’s issued a singles challenge to one half of the Top Guys, but after Aussie Open have also challenged Seven Star FTR, will Rocky be able to jump the line?”
Also scheduled, JR Kratos against the debuting Drew Adler.
With the return of CM Punk to AEW, Dax Harwood has teased FTR and Wardlow aligning with Punk, creating a new Super Pinnacle!
