It was announced yesterday that the previously scheduled Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament clash between Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark and Natalya and Sonya Deville.
WWE announced that Nikkita Lyons was not medically cleared to appear on the show last night, with former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne taking their spot in the tournament.
Jayne scored the pinfall victory over Natalya in the match to advance to the semi-final of the tournament, and are set to face off against Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah on next week’s SmackDown show.
Triple H took to Twitter after the show to react to the NXT stars’ victory, saying:
Seizing the moment. #Smackdown
The other semi-final between IYO SKY and Dakota Kai and Alexa Bliss and Asuka is set for this Monday’s episode of Raw.
