Here’s the full CM Punk vs Jon Moxley Undisputed AEW World Championship match from the August 24 edition of Dynamite.
The match came about after official World Champion CM Punk returned to AEW TV to confront interim World Champion Jon Moxley on the August 10 episode.
Moxley had won the interim gold at Forbidden Door, during Punk’s absence due to a foot injury.
To the surprise of many, interim champion Moxley defeated CM Punk in just over three minutes to become the undisputed titleholder. Moxley got the upperhand after Punk hurt his foot performing a roundhouse kick.
Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the current plan is still for the Jon Moxley vs CM Punk to headline All Out.
This match marked Punk’s second loss of the year, following MJF’s victory over the star in February. In part due to Punk’s seven year wrestling hiatus, this was also Punk’s first loss in a title match since February 2013, when he unsuccessfully challenged for The Rock’s WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber.
