UPDATE – For the latest details on Mandy Rose’s WWE release, click this link.
AEW star Saraya, formerly Paige in WWE, has reacted to today’s shocking news that Mandy Rose has been released by WWE.
Mandy Rose and Saraya were both members of the Absolution group on Raw alongside Sonya Deville in 2017-2018.
Following todays news of Rose’s release, Saraya tweeted:
Love you sister @WWE_MandyRose
Rose was reportedly released due to WWE deeming the explicit content on her FanTime page to be against the terms of her contract.
Fightful Select followed up by adding that WWE sources indicated the company felt like the content was “not appropriate for one or more of their partner relationships”, and that Rose “didn’t seem interested” in stopping posting.
Rose reportedly had indicated to people in recent months that she did realize what she was posting could end up getting her in trouble with WWE management.
Unfortunately subscribers to her page had been illegally leaking the content and it became very visible on social media.
Many names from within the world of wrestling have reacted, including NWA’s Mayra Dias Gomes, who tweeted:
Honestly? Justice for Mandy Rose.
Everything is cool when others are profiting off a woman’s sexuality. The problem arises when women take control of their own sexuality. Then, of course, they must be burned at the stake.
Notable indie wrestler Shazza McKenzie wrote:
I hope Mandy makes millions of dollars and does whatever the f**k she wants
Gabby Ortiz, who worked an AEW Dark match as recently as last month, tweeted:
There just aren’t enough words to describe how unjust and frustrating this is… all my love & support to Mandy ❤️
Those are just a few of the tweets sharing that sentiment.
Current NXT stars Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne, members of NXT’s Toxic Attraction group alongside Mandy Rose for the past year, both tweeted broken heart emojis after the news broke.
WWE hastily booked Mandy Rose to lose the NXT Women’s Championship to Roxanne Perez on NXT last night – the match was originally planned to take place on January 10.
Rose’s reign with the NXT Women’s Title clocked in at 413 days, so it was just four days off being the second-longest NXT Women’s Title reign of all time behind Asuka’s.
We wish Rose the very best for her future and we’ll continue to provide updates on this story as they emerge.
