WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has revealed that the 2023 Royal Rumble bout will be his last ever match.
Booker T was a surprise entrant in the January 28 30 man match. His WWE in-ring return was short lived, with GUNTHER eliminating Booker less than a minute after he entered the match.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T argued that his Rumble return was a great exit for him.
Opening up about the moment, Booker T said:
“I’m gonna tell you right now, I think that was the last time people are going to see me in the ring. At Reality of Wrestling, I’m going to work with my students, but as far as putting my boots on again, that was the last time.
“It’s kind of sad too. I’m kind of choked up about it a little bit. It was a great exit for me. I don’t think it could have been better than that, but putting the old boots up, it’s kind of hard.
“I think that was the last time putting on the boots and getting back in the ring at that level. I think that’s the last time I really want to do it at that level.
“I don’t think it can get better than that, seriously. I want to thank all the fans for that moment.”
Booker T recently revealed that he was only told that he was going to be in the Royal Rumble during that night’s kickoff show.
The Hall of Famer had previously made in-ring returns for his Reality of Wrestling independent promotion in September and December 2022.
Booker T currently serves as a commentator for the WWE NXT brand.
