A comparison between fan interest in AEW Revolution and WWE Elimination Chamber has revealed a shocking statistic.
Dave Meltzer reported the details in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, taking a look at the comparison between Google searches for both shows.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), Meltzer wrote:
“This show (Revolution) did 50,000 searches and was No. 12 for the day in the U.S.
“That compares to 500,000 that WWE did for Elimination Chamber, and AEW had frequently since 2021 beaten WWE in Google searches for PPVs in the same few-week period, even to the point that the 2021 All Out beat WWE’s SummerSlam.”
The February 18 WWE Elimination saw a record live-gate and viewing reception for the company, according to previous reports.
AEW Revolution in 2022 was the second most successful PPV in the company’s history.
The March 3 2023 AEW Rampage before AEW Revolution saw a drop in viewership with an audience of 394,000 viewers compared to the February 24 edition that drew 409,000 viewers.
