With tonight’s main event on AEW Dynamite (April 5) a major question was set to be answered: Are FTR staying in AEW or possibly even going to WWE?
Well if tonight’s match was the definitive conclusion to the contract questions, then it looks as though it is a resounding NO on the WWE front.
In an exciting, at times hard hitting match between the AEW Tag Team Champions the Gunns and FTR, FTR was able to re-capture their former gold.
After avoiding a variety of DQ attempts by the Gunns, FTR was finally able to pick up the pinfall victory and the AEW Tag Team Championships.
Also noteworthy, they will not be forced to quit AEW as was the match stipulation if they lost!
While there has been no formal announcement made regarding an additional contract length with AEW, at least the looming threat of leaving AEW in storyline has ended.
Elsewhere on tonight’s AEW Dynamite, a surprise appearance from a major free agent in professional wrestling, and then an announcement from Tony Khan that he had officially been signed with AEW.
Also, the return of one beloved AEW star to compliment Christian Cage’s dastardly return.
The major announcement by Tony Khan was also revealed with subsequent details being shared by AEW after the segment on television.
