Last night’s (May 22) episode of WWE Raw saw a lot of changes from the original plans.
Several matches were scrapped and changed from the show, including original plans which called for Shinsuke Nakamura to be Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn’s partner rather than Matt Riddle.
On last night’s show, Paul Heyman opened up the in-ring portion of the show in the ring, where he cut a promo about Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn ahead of Night of Champions.
However, per Fightful Select (subscription required), Heyman’s segment was changed from original plans.
Fightful’s report says that the original plan for Heyman on the show would have seen him be sat in the front row, seemingly playing off of last week’s show, where he had a ‘visitor’s pass’ to the event.
Riddle, Owens and Zayn were victorious in the main event against Imperium on the show.
The card for WWE Night of Champions 2023 on Saturday, May 27 is as follows:
World Heavyweight Championship – Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins vs. AJ Styles
Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship – Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn (c) vs. Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa
Raw Women’s Championship – Bianca Belair (c) vs. Asuka
SmackDown Women’s Championship – Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Natalya
Intercontinental Championship – Gunther (c) vs. Mustafa Ali
Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar
Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus
