WWE star Mustafa Ali has now reacted to his original match at NXT The Great American Bash being scrapped following Tuesday’s title change.
Ahead of the July 30 NXT special, Mustafa Ali called out Wes Lee, issuing a challenge for Lee’s North American Championship.
It was later confirmed by NXT that Lee would defend his gold against Ali on the upcoming premium live event.
However, Dominik Mysterio defeated Wes Lee for the North American Championship on the July 18 episode of NXT, following interference from the Judgment Day.
Mustafa Ali has now taken to Twitter to react to this title change, writing:
I’m gonna beat his ass
While many fans believe that Ali is targeting Dominik, it has also been speculated that Ali meant this message for Wes Lee, for losing the title ahead of their scheduled bout.
The match between Lee and Ali has been removed from WWE.com’s preview of the Great American Bash – for more on the situation, read our story at this link.
Lee’s title loss means that he has missed out on breaking a historic WWE record by a few days, which you can read more about right here.
Dominik Mysterio’s comments on his title win can be found at this link.
