Kevin Owens has commented on his move to SmackDown, addressing the status of his tag-team with his best-friend Sami Zayn.
Following their reunion earlier this year, Owens and Zayn have established themselves as a dominant tag-team, notably ending The Usos’ record WWE Tag Team Championship reign in the main event of WrestleMania 39 Saturday, and holding the gold for 154 days.
The future of this team was questioned after Friday’s (October 13) edition of SmackDown, during which Owens was officially moved to the SmackDown roster, in return for Jey Uso who was moved to Raw last month.
In a WWE Digital Exclusive interview, Owens noted that the move was ‘bittersweet’ for him.
Planning to make the best of his time on SmackDown, Owens said:
“I’m excited to be on SmackDown, it’s bittersweet. You know, my tag-team partner and friend Sami Zayn is still on Raw. I think that effectively ends our partnership, for now anyway.
“So that’s a hard one to take but what can you do? I’m here on SmackDown and I’m going to make the best of it.”
Owens’ SmackDown move was announced by Nick Aldis, who Triple H has now appointed to be the general manager of the blue brand.
Aldis has now commented on his WWE debut, which you can read more about right here.
