WWE’s current steroid testing policy has been revealed courtesy of a top star on the SmackDown brand.
Making the media rounds for WWE’s Elimination Chamber event on February 24, the Mega Star LA Knight appeared on Australia’s Sunrise talk show alongside Aussie native Grayson Waller to discuss the upcoming Premium Live Event, among other topics.
One of which was the health and physique’s of modern wrestlers, with both Knight and Waller being asked if there was any “cheap ways” for superstars to bulk up, with steroids being mentioned by the hosts.
To which Knight and Waller responded by giving an insight into the company’s current testing policy for steroids in particular, saying:
Knight: “You can’t (use steroids).”
Waller: “I wish. That would make my life so much easier if I was to cheat (in that) way (he jokingly said).”
Knight: “Yeah, because that would actually make recovery easy but, no, every month we get tested. Every single month.”
As stated in WWE’s Substance Abuse and Drug Testing Policy, the company tests employees both based on ‘reasonable suspicion’ as well as randomly, with 30-day suspensions enforced upon a failed test.
Second violations result in 60-day suspensions while a third results in an admission into rehab; which if refused, results in termination.
