AEW star CJ Perry (Lana in WWE) has announced that her and husband Miro (Rusev) have separated after seven years of marriage.
The pair began dating during their time together in WWE NXT, before infamously getting engaged in the Summer of 2015 in the midst of an ongoing storyline break up between them.
As reported by TMZ Sports today, the couple have now officially separated after tying the knot back in 2016, though the two plan to remain friends and work together following the separation.
Perry told TMZ:
“Miro and I have made the difficult decision to separate after many wonderful years together, and have decided to move on as friends, and hopefully onscreen characters somewhere down the road.”
TMZ notes that the separation does not come after any kind of fight of cheating, and that the two simply grew apart over the years.
CJ joined AEW back at All Out in September, where she took part in an angle against her husband on television.
The two reunited at AEW Worlds End, with Perry betraying Andrade El Idolo to help Miro secure the win, though neither have appeared on television since.
